Papilloma larynx

Interesting case of recurrent papilloma larynx.


1. 70 years old female patient came with c/o breathlessness - 5 days

2. Hoarseness of voice - 20 years


She gave history of two previous surgeries for papilloma larynx. The first surgery took place when the patient was 20 years old.
The next surgery took place when she was 40 years old. She underwent tracheostomy during the second surgery.

On examination:

Pt was in stridor.

Emergency tracheostomy was performed.

Videolaryngoscopy showed:

Multiple warty masses involving the upper surface of both vocal cords. Laryngeal inlet could not seen totally obstructed.

Both arytenoids could be seen moving.
